We had a great time with you this weekend. Thank you to everyone who came to the school. See you soon!

Iceland

Well we're just about finished packing and about to head off for the airport to head to Iceland. It was this time last year that we went to Iceland totally unprepared for what God was going to do there. Since that visit we've been back twice already this year and tomorrow's trip will be the third - all told, four visits in one year!

Why?

Because God is all over that nation! AJ and I fell in love with the people there, fell in love with the raw hunger for God in the hearts of the people and got to see God do spectacular things there. We saw miracles, we saw fire, we saw angels, we saw God at work like few other times in our lives and we saw lives being transformed.

But this trip has a difference - because of the economic downturn of the recent months, Iceland got dropped in the ocean in terms of the global financial market and their Krona is now worth next to nothing compared to this time last year. Which means that the churches can't afford to fly us in, the people can't afford to attend a conference and we can't afford to go. So - it's a good thing we have a very big God who has all the finances in the world and can drop thousands of dollars easily, so we are going anyway in faith! We spoke to John & Carol who had just gotten back from Iceland and they said, "Guys, now is the time to invest in Iceland". Which is precisely what we are doing.

So AJ, Abigail and I are off to do a prophetic training school for the nation. I've not been in a place where the heavens are so open and my dreams and encounters tend to go off the charts in Iceland so we're excited to come and lay a foundation and teach folks how to walk in revelatory paths safely. We'd love to invite you to partner with us financially and in prayer. If you want to invest into this missions trip, hop on over to our online giving page where you can give electronically. You might not be able to come to Iceland, but you can help send us there!

On the road again...

...but this time with a difference.

So I’ve been sitting on some news for quite some time and I’m now excited to share it... the Jones family are moving to the USA! That’s right ladies and gentlemen, we’re packing up and moving down across the border. It’s been a journey that started around this time last year and ramped up around June and it has been pelting full speed ahead since then.

Last week we were in the US looking for a house to call home and all things being well we should be moving there next month, just in time for our first Christmas in the USA. So what’s going on then? Well, we’re moving to an awesome church called Grace Center to join the pastoral staff there and we’re super excited to be working with such an incredible team headed up by Jeff Dollar. Jeff and Becky are two of our favourite people to be around and we can’t wait to be at Grace partnering with God to build his kingdom with these guys. In all seriousness we’re joining a stellar team and we’re excited to be on board. I’m not one for name dropping but the church kind of reads like a who’s who of the Kingdom so we’re still scratching our head amazed at God’s hand in all of this.

It’s been a wild ride thus far, behind the scenes we’ve been arranging visas, work permits, social security numbers, looking at houses, trying to find cars - all the fun stuff that goes with moving countries and now we are starting packing! For me it’s another dream come true as I’ve always wanted to live in the USA and as we’re moving to be with friends and family in Nashville we’re over the moon.

Don’t worry, we’ll still be on the road - just not as much as the last few years!

Scratch That

Okay forget the last post, all is well in the world. The smartest thing we did in ministry was hire Melissa. She basically runs the traveling (and other parts too!) section of our life, which if you can imagine for a second, is quite a massive undertaking. She organises all our trips, all the flights, the schedules, the hotel bookings, the itineraries, the product, the reminders, the website, the store, the emails - she is our go between to the world. We'd be beyond useless without her.

However, it is with great joy and swelling of pride in my heart that I announce today that Melissa made Air Canada Elite and Star Alliance Gold this morning. Way to go Melissa! I still remember the first day when I sat her down and explained the joys of bucket codes, upgrade lists and seat allocations. I remember the glazed eyeballs, the "are you seriously this obsessive compulsive" looks and the "can you go through that last part again please" but she has now joined the heady ranks of the world's frequent fliers. Well done Melissa, may that precious little gold card bring you all the upgrades your heart desires. You've earned it.

Oh yeah, and she's also getting married in a few weeks too, but you know, perspective people, perspective.

Sky Diving

Misc. A tiny little island off of New Zealand. Upon looking at Google Maps, I don’t think you can travel any more east on the planet, before you start hitting west… I am literally (as far as I can tell) on the furthest “edge” of the planet.

This island is amazing. If it helps, think of the Island from LOST but add a Scottish climate and you’re pretty close. I am here teaching the prophetic week on James and Denise Jordan’s 3 month school. There’s 14 nations represented and a bunch of very hungry people who are a lot of fun.

To get here you have to fly on the sketchiest plane I’ve ever been on (I will now never complain about Ukrainian Airways ever again). This little 8 seater prop plane chugs you over and you are very aware you are flying… you can feel every bump in the air, you feel you are encased in tin foil and, in my case, I was sitting right behind the pilot - practically in the cockpit. The first day I tried to fly out, I couldn’t because the weather was so bad but I am now finally here.

I’ll try and grab some pictures and some video so you can get a feel for the place, but AJ was wise enough to stay home with Abigail for this trip, I’m pretty sure neither of them would’ve coped with the flight.

My favourite part is the electricity situation. We have power between 7.00 and 10.30am and then from 4.30pm to 10.30pm. After that, you better hope your laptop is charged. Curiously the internet connection (faster than dialup - occasionally - but way slower than broadband) stays online, which is why at 3.38am I can post this blog update!
